Volunteers are the backbone of Special Olympics Nebraska. We could not impact the lives of so many athletes without the time, energy and commitment of our volunteers. They are coaches, officials, competition support or event coordinators. They can even be unified partners—playing alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities—or fans cheering in the stands.
How will you join our movement?
Our volunteer opportunities are listed below. We have one-time, ongoing and group volunteer options—both inside and beyond our sports programming. Descriptions of each volunteer role, as well as how to sign up, are listed below.
DAY OF EVENT VOLUNTEER (ONE-TIME)
We have day of event opportunities inside a sports environment (at a competition) or outside a sports environment (at a fundraising or outreach event). Use the link below to check out available day of event volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer registration is generally available 5-6 weeks prior to an event date.
We also have ongoing opportunities inside a sports environment, or beyond a sports environment. Use the links below to learn more about what options we offer based on your interests and expertise, and to apply.
Volunteer on a regular basis inside a sports environment. Coach, support athletes, or help competitions come to life!
Volunteer on a regular basis beyond a sports environment. Help us with our school programs, free health screenings, or mentor an athlete through our Athlete Leadership Program!
VOLUNTEER AS A GROUP
We also offer day of event group opportunities!
Volunteer groups report improved teamwork and enhanced relationships as a result of working with Special Olympics Nebraska athletes. By joining us, your organization can showcase your social responsibility, build brand awareness, and experience an array of team-building opportunities.
