Truck Convoy

What We Do

The Truck Convoy is a two-day celebration of the trucking industry, allied partners and local law enforcement all working together to help raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics Nebraska.

To be part of the truck convoy, truckers donate an entry fee of $100. The Truck Convoy begins in Hastings, Nebraska and the congregation of trucks then 'convoys' together to Grand Island. Participants are welcomed by local Special Olympics Nebraska athletes and their families, law enforcement officers and community members.

The Truck Convoy is more than just a convoy, though. It is a great way for truckers to be involved in the community, send a positive message about the trucking industry and interact with Special Olympic Athletes Nebraska athlete.  There are a lot of events planned around the Truck Convoy weekend. On day one of the event the community hosts a picnic involving outdoor games, a raffle and entertainment at the fairgrounds in Hastings for all the Convoy participants, and athletes. The next day, once the truckers complete their convoy to Grand Island, there is a cookout for lunch, an auction and an awards ceremony at Bosselman’s in Grand Island. Often, participants find the events before and after the Truck Convoy to be the most fun and rewarding aspects of the event.
