Support SONE Athletes by Shopping at Safeway!

We are pleased to share with you, that for the seventh consecutive year, Special Olympics has again been invited to be one of three beneficiaries of supermarket chain, Safeway’s annual People with Disabilities campaign. The promotion will run the entire month of August, from August 1 – August 31, 2014.

For decades, Safeway has supported regional and national programs that assist people with disabilities. Each year, Safeway dedicates an entire month to raise these critical funds through donations made at checkout by their customers. Over the past six years, Safeway’s campaign has raised more than $11.5 million for Special Olympics.

Money raised helps Special Olympics Nebraska, among other things, to:

- Maintain our high-quality State Games in which 5,000 athletes have the opportunity to meet their toughest competition
- Provide more Healthy Athletes screenings and more opportunities for Young Athletes to develop
- Recruit and train more athletes and coaches

Safeway has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace by employing many Special Olympics athletes across the United States, embracing the philosophy that bringing people with and without intellectual disabilities together creates communities of respect and inclusion.

Visit your local Safeway store and choose Special Olympics at checkout. 100% of the funds designated to Special Olympics will be donated to the Special Olympics movement.

Nebraska Safeway stores are in Alliance, Scottsbluff, Ogallala, Sidney and Chadron.
