Finish Line supports Special Olympics this Holiday Season

As part of Finish Line’s commitment to celebrating the everyday achievements of athletes everywhere, one of the leading athletic retailers has designated Special Olympics as one of the beneficiaries of the Finish Line Youth Foundation’s in-store and online holiday customer and employee donation campaign. The campaign is being held in Finish Line stores nationwide from November 2 – December 31, 2012.

Finish Line’s Holiday Consumer Donation Campaign is one key component of an exciting multi-year sponsorship with Special Olympics, which launched in April 2012. In addition to this Consumer Donation Campaign, Finish Line will support Special Olympics through diverse opportunities including sales of co-branded merchandise online and in Finish Line’s more than 650 stores, employee volunteer opportunities in local communities, and national sponsorship of Special Olympics TRAIN – a sports assessment and nutrition education program designed to help Special Olympics athletes stay active, stay healthy, and achieve their personal best.

“This partnership is a great fit for us,” said Dr. Timothy P. Shriver, Chairman and CEO of Special Olympics International. “We are a sports organization and Finish Line is a great sports brand with a passion to celebrate the achievements of athletes everywhere. Finish Line’s commitment to supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities will be a tremendous asset as we continue to work to promote acceptance and inclusion for all people.”
