Law Enforcement Officers give a whole new meaning to “protect and serve” at Tip-A-Cop fundraisers. Officers serve as celebrity waiters at local restaurants and they donate all the tips they receive to Special Olympics Nebraska.  All tips are tax deductible and support sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

March 12th-26th:

  • Red Robin restaurants will sell medallion icons to patrons who make a donation of at least $1.  The proceeds from the sales of these icons will benefit Special Olympics.

Saturday, March 26th:

  • The Tip-A-Cop events will take place at all Nebraska Red Robin restaurants:  Lincoln (27th & Pine Lake), Papillion (Shadow Lake Mall) and Omaha (144th & Maple and 180th & Center).  Officers from the Lincoln Police Department, Papillion Police Department and the Omaha Police Department will volunteer as waiters to earn tips for SONE.  All tips made by the officers will benefit SONE.

  • SONE athletes and coaches will also make appearances at the restaurants to show their support to the officers and to assist them in greeting patrons.
