"Every person regardless of whatever different abilities they may have, can contribute, can be a source of joy, can beam with pride and love." Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder
Special Olympics Nebraska was founded in 1972 to offer numerous opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. We now serve more than 4,000 individuals in more than 110 communities and in numerous classrooms throughout Nebraska. Sports opportunities are offered based on four geographic regions. Our athletes compete at the regional level striving for first, second or third place in order to advance to any state level competition. Leadership opportunities for participants are offered by contacting the state office and community-changing opportunities are offered through Project Unify efforts. The state office is located at 11011 Q Street, Suite 104C, in Omaha. |
